Today is my stop on the blog tour for Ellen Faith's new book, Perfume and Promises. When Emma from Star Crossed Tours asked me if I had any subjects that Ellen could cover for her Guest Post, it only seemed right to do something on either perfumes or promises - with without further ado, please read on for Ellen's top ten perfumes! I'd love to know what your favourite scent to wear is, please let me know in the comments.
Chloe Richards is a small town girl with a big heart. At least, that’s what the local folk of
Rosehip Village think. But when her parents turn up on her doorstep asking for help, her secret
past is about to be revealed.
Being the daughter of Hollywood royalty was never going to be easy, but at 19, Chloe Richards
managed to leave that life behind along with the scandals that almost destroyed her. A fresh
start was all she needed, and a fresh start was what she got in Rosehip. Girlfriend of a local
bookshop owner, best friends with fiercely loyal café owner and owner of a perfume business
herself, Chloe has a happy life. But her parents are about to turn her perfect life on its head.
Again.
What do you do when you’re torn between loyalty and protecting yourself? Should you trust
your heart when your head is telling you not to?

TOP 10 PERFUMES - Guest Post from Ellen Faith
Hi Laura! Thank you so much for having me on your blog, I’m thrilled to be here.
I love, love, love perfumes and have always been obsessed with the smell of things, even as a small
child. I have a very bad habit of smelling things, something I don’t even realise I’m doing half of the
time! Things like my food, clothes…..it’s just not cool. Weird quirk of Ellen number one, right there
haha. This topic really interested me though as it gave me the opportunity to reminisce. Perfumes can
evoke so many memories and know that for me, they can throw me back to a time, good or bad, and I
love them for it.
So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here are my top 10 perfumes:
1. Snow White Disney perfume – I remember feeling so excited that I had my first perfume and
to top it off, it was a Disney one! Looking back it was sickly sweet, and typically for Snow
White, smelt like apple. This is probably where my love of sweeter perfumes began.
2. Cacharel Anais Anais – this perfume throws me right back to my childhood. It was one that
my mum wore when I was younger and it always makes me think of her when I smell it.
3. Estee Lauder Pleasures – see above! While Anais Anais was something she wore when I
was very young, Pleasures was the perfume my mum wore as I was growing up. Both
perfumes will always be very special to me.
4. Miss Dior – my grandma has worn this for as long as I can remember. THIS is a perfume that
lets people know you’re in the room.
5. Givenchy Amarige – ah my very first grown up perfume. I felt like a real adult buying this. One
of my mum’s friends used to wear this and it would linger whenever she left which to me,
symbolises a quality perfume. If my perfume doesn’t leave evidence that I’m in a room or
have been in a room, I don’t want to know.
6. Ghost – I wore this perfume when I first started work and it was actually the very first
Christmas present my boyfriend (now husband) bought me so it holds special memories.
7. Paris Hilton – back in 2005 I went on my first trip to California with my mum and her friend
and almost wept for joy when I saw this in Macys. It hadn’t been released in the UK at the
time and there was something satisfying about wearing a perfume no one else could get hold
of yet.
8. Chloe (the original) – purely because although Amarige was my first ‘grown up’ perfume, this
actually felt like my first grown up perfume. Something about it made me stand taller and feel
like a classy adult, the kind of person I always wanted to be growing up.
9. Prada Candy (the original) - I looooooove this perfume. I first received this as a gift a few
Christmases back and it has been my go-to perfume ever since. With notes of caramel,
vanilla and a warm musk, this perfume just gets better and better the longer you wear it.
10. Chanel No5 – this was my wedding (and honeymoon) perfume and it just brings all the happy
memories flooding back whenever I wear it.
